Father Tom led a parish group to the Church of Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs, and St Ignatius, Chideock,Dorset on Mon 21 May 2018.
Teresa Thomas arranged the visit to share with the group the village where she was born, including the church, the beautiful grounds of Chideock Manor ( not open to the general public) and the Cider House.
Father Tom said Mass in this hidden treasure of a church and village. Prof Denys Brunsden gave a talk on the history. Teresa guided the group around the grounds, where some had their lunch.
Colin was our host at the Cider House, where all enjoyed a tipple on the house. Hilda Burbridge celebrated her 100 years with a full pint of cider. We also celebrated Maureen Futcher’s birthday with a one candle cake.
